At the time AHA was becoming pretty well known and at first I liked what they had to say. So, I started my own Pro Life FaceBook page: Oklahoma ProLife Community. I found it nearly insufferable to try to educate obstinate people. Though for a few months previous, I had gone through a rough patch admining the page. Whose new views usually get Pro Abortion/Choice people to think and perhaps change their minds. I have endeared through all of it and have made a lot of once 'cookie cutter' Pro Lifers into socially tolerable people. ^^^Most of what I post is controversial and causes a lot of people to comment in opposition. My opposing beliefs: Using scientific arguments, trying to abolish rape culture, pointing out other Pro Life aspects besides those concerning abortion (the homeless, hungry, parenting, education, etc), Pro LGBTQ, and many other things. (It may seem as though I am digressing, but I am not, I assure you.) Not every Pro Life person is like that, me included, I just wanted to point out how-I am not conventional to some of the fans on our page. What I mean by 'cookie cutter'- using God or religion as your manning argument, blaming women for being 'murderers'- instead of defending them and the child/ren within them, upholding a rape culture, and so on with the stereotypicals (Yes, I am making up words.) Right now, I seem to be painting a pretty ugly picture of a movement that I am apart of. Namely, it is due to me not being a 'conventional' or as I say 'cookie cutter' Pro Lifer. It has been a journey and a mass of experiences within one another helping to man it. Some of you may know this page: Pro-life Discussions on FaceBook.
I guess the best way is, well, from the beginning.Ī few years ago, I was asked to admin a Pro Life page by a good friend of mine. But I continued to put it off due to a busy schedule, along with not knowing exactly how to begin. I was asked to write my experiences with them by a friend some time ago.
